March 30, 2007: Port Authority Approves 15% service cut
Come to a lunch time picket demanding that the Port Authority Board vote NO on the massive service cuts and fare hikes that Port Authority CEO Steve Bland and Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato want to force on us public transit riders.
Organized by Save Our Transit. (Not necessarily endorsed by the Campaign to Stop the Bus Cuts.)
On Friday, March 23 the Port Authority Committee Consumer Relations/Operations Committee will be meeting to consider their final service and fare change proposal, which will be voted on by the whole Board the following Friday, March 30.
On Monday March 26, come to the House Appropriations Committee hearing about public transit at the Greentree Municipal Building on 10 Manila Ave. It begins at 1 PM. The Greentree Municipal Building
can be reached by the 38C Greentree Express. A bus leaved Forbes and
Stanwix at 12:15 and arrives at 12:27; another leaves at 12:40 and
arrives at 12:57.
Khari Mosley, Co-Chair of the Campaign to Stop The Bus Cuts, will testify first. Bus riders, union leaders, economic development specialists and business owners will also speak.
